How Pingfold works
One default per app. Exceptions only when you need them.
Pingfold listens for Android notifications after you grant Notification Access and applies the behavior you chose.
1. Route each app
Immediate keeps the notification available now. Digest holds it for later review. Block dismisses it from the shade.
2. Add Exceptions for narrower cases
The first matching enabled Exception can override the app default for a specific condition. Starter recipes help with common patterns without hiding what the rule does.
3. Use Focus for temporary quiet
Focus temporarily holds selected apps until the session ends. Your normal configuration remains intact.
4. Use Profiles for reusable setups
Lifetime Supporters can save Profiles that change selected app defaults together, including scheduled Profile behavior. Exceptions still apply before a Profile.
5. Review the explanation
Pingfold records structural activity locally so you can see what behavior or rule handled a recent notification.
Privacy boundary
Notification content, app configuration, rules, history, Digest state, Focus, and Profiles stay on-device. Pingfold has two separate network-enabled areas: optional Firebase usage/crash telemetry controlled from Settings, and the isolated Lifetime Supporter service used for purchase verification and optional public supporter profile data. Neither receives notification content.
