Notification filtering on Android

Use broad defaults first. Add narrow rules only where they help.

A useful notification filter should make the common case easy and keep exceptions understandable.

Per-app defaults

Choose Immediate, Digest, or Block for each app. That default handles most notifications without any rule-building.

Exceptions for special cases

When one type of notification deserves different treatment, create an Exception. Pingfold supports conditions such as notification text, channel, notification kind, and time limits, then applies the first matching enabled Exception.

Useful actions without arbitrary automation

Exceptions can support delivery behaviors including Digest, Block, Quiet Repeats, and Remind Later, plus a constrained auto-dismiss action. Pingfold intentionally stays focused on notification handling instead of becoming a general device automation engine.
